Well hello there!

I thought I would start a weekly “Free Fridays” level to my Wild Way Newsletter with a round up of photos I found interesting from my work and walks that week. The paid for monthly newsletter will remain as they are, jam packed with much more detailed longer plant info, all of the plants of the month, magazine style articles and carefully curated photos taken on my propa camera. I’ve been attending a really good weekly water colour class nearby, we had a little show and tell on our first project and it was lovely to see everyone’s work side-by-side. Can you guess which is mine? :)

I’ve been taking this same photo every few days throughout autumn as a study of the colours changing, which I’m using to inform our garden.

Finally brought the squashes into the house after drying out in the polytunnel. I should have done this sooner as some stems of mould on them but we were having the house decorated.

We have hundreds of wild trees on our farm, in areas beyond the garden, and this winter I really need to start identifying what they all are. Some are easy like oak and birch, others a bit trickier.

I’ve started thinking about bigger adjustments to hedges and shape of the garden, particularly the left hand side, which I’d like to open up to views of the meadows and beyond. I know what shrubs I want to add (on left) but haven’t decided where. I’ve started a 3D model to help, which will be in the December paid monthly newsletter.

For my birthday last weekend we were up in the North Yorkshire dales and stumbled upon an absolutely incredible ancient grassland full of fungi.

Everyone on social media this week has been going wild about my sister Hannah’s mini front garden she created this year.

And my parents’ alpine garden looking over the valley.
